2/25/09: Testing and a Bummer

Completed my next round of power tests last week. Hit 389w for my 5min test and
320w for my 20min test. Surprised at the 5min results, but a little disappointed in the 20min results. The goal is to push that 5min test to 6.25w/kg (currently at just north of 5.8w/kg) and to push the 20min test north of 5.25w/kg (currently at 4.8 w/kg). I get there and Evans is a foregone conclusion.

Just realized I can't do Koppenberg! Love that race. Will be on a family Spring Break vacation and getting back in town that afternoon. So, now the season kick-off won't happen until Deer Trail, a whole month later (could do the Haystack TT thing, but ambivalent at this point). Has caused an immediate shift in training to adjust for the change, but not a big deal. Lots on the calendar this year so kicking things off a month later is actually probably a good thing. Especially given a lot of racing to be done in August.

Things are heating up. Great to see more and more folks out there, especially during this beautiful weather we're enjoying!

Ride safe,
Nate
